The Zoo · Over 50 species
Animals
Over 50 species from around the world. 250 animals. Just one zoo.
Welcome
A World to Discover
At Zoo al Maglio, you’ll find lions, snow leopards, gibbons, lemurs, wallabies, parrots, and dozens of other species.
Each animal is cared for according to an individualized care plan, in environments designed with its well-being in mind. Many of them can be observed up close, and you can even feed some of them alongside the keepers.

Lion
There are two of them, and you can hear them before you see them: the lion is the zoo’s mascot—the one the kids ask about as soon as…
Snow Leopard
Very few zoos in Europe have it: it is one of the hardest animals to spot in the wild.
White-handed Gibbon
It moves by brachiation, swinging from one branch to another without ever touching the ground.
Ring-tailed Lemur
Their black-and-white-striped tails always give them away. They live in groups and communicate using specific vocalizations.
Tufted Capuchin
A group of capuchin monkeys never stays still for a second: they climb, play, and call out to one another.
Bennett’s Wallaby
Australian marsupials, relatives of the kangaroo: active, social, and always on the move during the day.
South American Coati
A long, expressive muzzle, a tail that’s always held high, and boundless energy. Few people know what they look like until they see them.
Raccoon
Their front paws are so dexterous that they look like hands: they open containers and examine every new object.
Sulcata Tortoise
Slow by definition, yet majestic in every movement: many visitors are surprised by its size.
Corn Snake
Docile and curious, it is not venomous: it kills its prey by constriction.
Parrots
Macaws, Amazon parrots, cockatoos, and African grey parrots: among the longest-living and most intelligent animals at the zoo.
Burrowing Owl
A bird of prey that lives underground: it nests in burrows and, unlike almost all of its relatives, is also active during the day.
African Pygmy Goats
The heart of the farm: they let you get close to them and feed them, and for the little ones, this is their favorite part of the visit.
Pony
The stars of the Pony Ride, held on Wednesday and Sunday mornings along the zoo's trails.
Guinea Pigs
They live in groups and recognize each other by their voices: they have a repertoire of whistles and grunts for every situation.
Dwarf Rabbits
Their ears are always moving, and their teeth keep growing throughout their lives—that’s why they gnaw nonstop.
